The Rollercoaster of Motherhood
Parenthood, they say, is a wild ride, and no one tells you that this rollercoaster comes with an extra twist - anxiety! If you're a mom with anxiety, you're not alone.
You might start your day with a meticulously planned schedule, but before lunchtime you've realized it's the universe's grand plan to toss it all into disarray. Worries are your constant companions. Are they eating enough vegetables? Did you turn off the stove? Did you lock the door? Did someone break into your basement because you left the window unlocked and they're waiting to steal your kids in the middle of the night? The list goes on. Your mind resembles a browser with a gazillion tabs open, and each tab is a new anxiety-inducing scenario.
You're expected to be the family's superhero, armed with endless patience and the ability to handle any situation. But let's face it; even superheroes have their Kryptonite. Anxiety, meet the cape of motherhood! And again, this is all before noon!
And mom guilt? Don't get me started. Mom guilt isn't a 100-meter dash; it's a marathon. You feel guilty for needing 'me time' and guilty for not spending enough time with your children. You're convinced that every parenting decision you make will lead to years of therapy for your kids. Mom guilt is anxiety's best friend, and they have daily tea parties in your head.
But here's the secret, mama: your anxiety doesn't define you. In between the frantic moments and the panic attacks over spilled milk, you're raising incredible little humans, creating a home filled with laughter and love, and teaching them that even with anxiety in the mix, you're a mom who shows up every day. So, chin up, you're rocking this rollercoaster called motherhood, complete with all its twists, turns, and loops even if you're silently stressing about what the next one might bring.
